To be considered for the Rising Impact Leaders Community, applicants need to meet these criteria:
You’re a rising leader. This means you’re an early-career or mid-career professional who has not yet reached the Vice President title level.
You work at an eligible nonprofit organization. Here is what needs to be true for the nonprofit where you work:
It is a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization
It is not a hospital, college or university, private foundation, or religious institution
You don’t work with our founder in her Chief Executive day job
You are committed to ensuring the Rising Impact Leaders Community is affirming for rising leaders who are part of immigrant, queer and trans, and BIPOC communities.
You have the time and interest to fully engage with the Rising Impact Leaders Community curriculum, which is all async (done on your own time). This includes weekly prompts and micro-actions, monthly deep dive videos, and generally engaging with other members through the Slack community.
-
As a member of the Rising Impact Leaders Community, you would be making these for your engagement and participation:
Monthly: Watching and then thinking about deep dive videos. (Each video is typically 30-60 minutes.)
Weekly: Complete the weekly prompt, which involves learning, reflection, or completing activities. (The weekly prompt can be completed in about 60 minutes, but you may want to spend more time on it depending on the prompt.)
Weekly: Take the micro action, which is one small step to apply the week’s learning or activity. (The micro action can usually be completed in about 30 minutes, but it can sometimes take longer or might involve conversations with others that are longer.)
Ongoing: engage with peers in the Rising Impact Leaders Community Slack channels, including giving and receiving peer-to-peer thought partnership, sharing feedback and ideas to help improve the Community, and otherwise connecting with peers.
Ongoing: Following the community agreements

A weekly activity prompt, which involves learning, reflection, or completing activities to deepen understanding or to take action related to the framework
A weekly micro action, which is one small step to apply the week’s learning or activity within the framework
Access to the Rising Impact Leaders Community Slack channels for peer-to-peer thought partnership and sharing feedback to help improve the Community
Additional benefits and resources we hope to offer over time as we grow the Community
➡️ Community Membership + 1:1 Advising:
All the benefits of Community Membership described above
Includes 1:1 advising with the Founder of Rising Impact Leaders Group, who will serve as your Chief Executive advisor and guide.
All 1:1 advising is async (on your own time) through Slack. It is conducted through Slack - Slack messages and Slack voice messages.
The 1:1 advising you receive is driven by you. There’s not a set curriculum - it’s a resource for you to use by your choice of raising topics, asking questions, and requesting advice. This means you will get out of it what you put into it because the value you get will be based you raising those topics, questions, and issues that you want to explore with your Chief Executive advisor and guide.
You’ll get up to 4 substantive responses per week in response to your questions and requests for advice sent in your dedicated 1:1 advising channel. A substantive response means a message from your Chief Executive advisor and guide providing reflections, advice, and/or other thought partnership, rather than clarifying questions or quick follow-up questions. (You’ll also get clarifying questions and quick follow-up responses as needed from your Chief Executive advisor and guide.)
You’ll get a substantive response within 24 business hours after your message is received, Monday-Thursday. (This might be delayed if there are follow up questions/clarifications needed from you in order to give you the best substantive response.)
A few caveats about Community Membership:
The Rising Impact Leaders Community Slack channels are not actively moderated by the team at Rising Impact Leaders Group (because the Slack channels are designed to be peer-to-peer spaces), but any content that is reported as violating our community agreement will be removed.
Membership does not include 1:1 Slack messaging advice from our Founder.
1:1 Advising does not include:
Reviewing documents/materials (other than voice/text messages on Slack)
Editing documents/materials
Immediate responses (see the 24-hour response Monday-Thursday described above)
1:1 advising beyond the 4 substantive responses per week described above (want more? let’s make a custom package for you!)
Legal or financial advice
